Research: Sally is in her father's household on the 1800 Stokes Co.,NC census. Her father, Ephriam, is not on the 1810 Stokes Co., NC census and Sally is married in her husband's household in 1820 and in 1830. They apparently moved to Guildford Co., NC by the 1840 census.167

On 10 Apr 1813 when Sarah "Sally" was 23, she married Abner S. PRYOR, in Stokes Co., NC.179 Born abt 1792 in Stokes Co., NC. Abner S. died in Forsyth Co., NC on 1 Sep 1857, he was 65.181

1857 Sept 4 - Forsyth Co., NC - Obituary in People's Press:
Abner Pryor was killed by the explosion of the broiler of the Buffalo Steam Mills (eight miles north of Salem on the road leading from Salem to Germanton - Messrs. Golding and Wallace, proprietors). He had his head cut off and his body otherwise very much mutilated."181

Stokes County Criminal Action Papers, 1820-1824 - "June Sessions 1824, We the Grand Jurors for the state present that David Lawson & Alexr. Boles. . . laborers, on the 17th instant did assemble in the Street in the town of Germanton & then & there curse & swear & pulled off their clothes to fight to the great annoyance of the citizens & against the peace of the State . . . Moaes Barrer, Foreman, EDWARD OGBURN, John Reddick, James Stafford, Hisekiah Jones, James Matthus, Joseph Smith, Lewis Waggoner, Harman Redman, John Lineback, LEONARD ZIGLAR, JUNR., JESSE BANNER, Tally Wicker, Phillip Kiser, William Fremon."

From the Salem Gleaner per Raleigh Register, 2 Jul 1829: "DISTRESSING!!! A little daughter of Mr. JESSE BANNER died at the age of about 17 months by partaking of a poisonous liquid prepared for destroying flies."336

The Postmaster General has adopted the following regulations for the government of this office, viz:
'In asmuch as failures to arrive at the ends of their routes and other points within contract time cannot but be known in all cases to Contractors or their Agents, it cannot be necessary to give them information thereof, when reported by Postmasters, and it is considered their duty to send to the Department, forthwith, their excuse
for such failures, if any they have: therefore,
'Ordered, That no notice be hereafter given to Contractors of failures to arrive at any Post Office in contract time, as reported by Postmasters to the Department; and if no excuse be received from them, within a reasonable time, the Third Assistant, is directed to present the cases thus reported to the Postmaster General, for fine
'Ordered, That a specific excuse be required for each specific delinquency of any Contractor, and that general allegations be not admitted. If bad roads be alleged, a specific report must be made of what portion of the road was so bad as to obstruct the mails, and what was its peculiar condition; if high waters, it must be shown what water-courses were impassable; and so of all other excuses.'
Should you at any time fail to arrive at the end of your route, or at
any intermediate Post Office, where the time of arrival is fixed, within the
time specified in your Contract or Schedule, it will therefore be expected of you,
immediately, by yourself or agent, to send your excuse to this Office, setting

"In the name of God, Amen. I William W. Terry of the County of Forsyth
in the State of North Carolina, do make, publish, and declare the
following to be my last will and testatment; that is to say .
First, I will and devise to my beloved WIFE ELIZABETH J. TERRY[Elizabeth Clayton] for and during her natural life, one third part in value of all my
lands of which I may die seized and possessed, including my dwelling
house and improvements, and I do also will and devise to her the
twenty five one acre tract part of which is known as the Zimmerman
tract, this I give to her absolutely.
Secondly, I wll and bequeath to my said wife ELIZABETH J.
TERRY all the money that may be on hand and debts due me at
my death, my grey mare, all the milk cows that may be on
hand, two beds, bedsteads, and furniture, her choice, one bureau
and contents, her chains, one clothes press and contents, the watch
she got of her brother Gideon Clayton, three band boxes and
their contents, and a large family bible which she had when
we were married.
Thirdly, I will and direct that my executors hereinafter named,
as soon after my death as may be convenient present to sell
the whole of the land of which I may die seized and possessed
including the remainder after my said wife's third part for her
life, that the sale be made for cash, at public auction, upon the
premises, after due advertisement, and that the proceeds of said
sale be divided as follows, to wit: to my SON NATHANIEL R. TERRY
one fourth part, to my DAUGHTER LORETTA TUTTLE WIFE OF PETER H. TUTTLE
one fourth part, to my DAUGHTER SARAH TERRY one fourth part,
and the remaining fourth part, I will and bequeath to the FOUR
LIVING CHILDREN OF MY SON JOHN H. TERRY, decd., late of the state of
GEORGIA, and to the survivors or survivors of them.
Fourthly, I will and direct that my executors hereinafter
named, as soon after my death as may be convenient, sell
at public aution, for cash, the whole of my personal estate, not
herein before disposed of, and the proceeds of such sale to dispose
of as follows, to wit; pay to my SON NATHANIEL R. TERRY, one fourth part,
to my DAUGHTER LORETTA TUTTLE WIFE OF PETER H. TUTTLE one fourth part,
to my DAUGHTER SARAH TERRY one fourth part, and the remaining
fourth part thereof I give and bequeath to the four living
children of my son JOHN H. TERRY decd. of the State of Georgia,
and to the survivors or suvivors of them, bu should all of the
said four children of my said son John H. Terry died before arriving
at the age of twenty one years, then and in that case it is my will
that all I have bequeathed to them in his my last will and
testament, go to, and be paid over to my three children above
named, to wit: Nathaniel R. , Loretta, and Sarah, share and share
alike, and I do hereby will and direct that the whole of the
money arising under or by virtue of this my last will to the said four
children of my said deceased son John H. Terry, remain in the
hands of my son Nathaniel R. Terry during the minority--
of the said four children, and that he settle with, and pay over to
them each as they shall arrive at the age of twenty one years and
should they all die without either of them arriving at that
age, then that he divide the money as above directed.
And lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved wife
Elizabeth J. Terry and my son Nathaniel R. Terry executrix and
executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 1st day of Aug AD 1873.

Ephriam enlisted in Co. K, "The Fighting Boys". 52nd Regiment, North Carolina Infantry Troops. He enlisted at Forsyth Co., at age 26, his occupation is a farmer, and he is 5'8 3/4" tall. He was mustered in as a Private at Camp Mangum on 28 April 1862 for 3 years in the war. Ephriam was absent on furlough, sick, for May and June 1862 and present through 1863 and through 1864 until November and December1864 when he was home on furlough and sick. He appears on the Roll of Honor and was reduced to ranks Aug. 1, 1862 of Company K, 52nd Regiment.341

On 6 Mar 1824 when Elizabeth "Betsy" was 18, she married John T. FOWLER, son of Samuel FOWLER, in Stokes Co., NC.179 Born ca 1803 in Stokes Co.,NC. John T. died in Stokes Co.,NC bef 1840, he was 37.

18. Susannah "Susan" BANNER. Born on 1 Oct 1810 in Stokes Co., NC. Buried in Bullichek Family Graveyard, Forsyth Co., NC.

Research: Susannah is in her father's household in 1820, 1830 and 1840. She married and moved out of the state of North Carolina possibly to Illinois and later to Missouri.178

On 12 Feb 1839 when Susannah "Susan" was 28, she married William Ashbury BOLYJACK, son of William C. BOLYJACK & Sarah K. MARIAH, in Stokes Co., NC moved ? to Tenn. or Illinois.179 Born on 24 Jan 1817 in Stokes Co., NC. William Ashbury died in Forsyth Co, NC in 1869, he was 51.

NOTE: Bolyjack is also the same name as the name Bullischek and Bole(r)jack.

20 Dec 1838 - From the will of Joseph F. Bolyjack in Stokes County,
"Item #12... gave to his great nephew William Asbury Bolyjack all the lands which he owns in Stokes County including his mills, his dwelling house and all other improvements. Item #13... gave to William Asbury Bolyjack all the rest and residue of my personal estate, consisting of my slaves, horses, cattle hogs and every description of personal property which I have or own to him and his heirs forever.” Signed by Joseph Bolyjack. Witnesses were J.L.Gibson and John F. Poindexter.

10 Mar 1846 - From the estate of Joseph F. Bolyjack comes the following: $155.00 was paid to the heirs of ‘ Joseph Bolejack. Money that the estate owed showed the following: Lewis B.Banner,$10.111/2, Charles Banner,$39.921/2 and Joseph Banner ,$17.431/2. Money paid to estate: Lewis B.Banner,$3.98,Charles Banner,$35.361/2 and Joseph Banner, $19.251/4. Signed by Reuben Golding,JP and H. Miller,JP.

24 Sept 1846 -Joseph Ferdinard Bullischek(Bolyjack) died in Stokes County, NC. He remained single all his life yet kept a home for his single sister, Anna Maria and his great nephew William Ashbury.NOTE: The old family home was gutted by fire on 12 March 1987. Joseph left he bulk of his estate to his grand nephew William
Asbury who married Ephriam Sr.’s daughter, Susan Banner.

13 Apr 1847 - A letter from Covine, White County, Illinois from Daniel Hay to the clerk of Stokes County, NC.
“Sir,
I am informed that a man by the name of Jo or Joseph Bowlejack has lived in your county and has lately died--that he was possessed of considerable property and that he left no widow or no children--some of his relations live in this country, and at their request I write you this line requesting that you will make some enquiry as to the amount of the estate and in what condition the estate is left and write me a line giving all the information you can about the matter--The information received here is that a man named William Bowlejack who is a brother’s grandson to the deceased is the executor and principle heir to the estate and that some small amount is coming to the other heirs, those who are interested doubt the correctness of his statement
and are anxious to hear from some disinterested person the true condition of said estate. What are the contents of the will and therefore take the liberty to request an answer from you as early as it may suit your convenience directed to this place--Covine,Illinois.I am respectivefully yours, Daniel Hay”
