Sampson David assigned 50 acres of this land to Garland Standley. The 50 acres of land were surveyed on 19 Mar 1811 and described as being in the county of Anderson in the district of Hamilton on Buffalo Creek a branch of New River including his improvement. 268

This indenture made this 27th day of January
1834 in the year aforesaid Between Elenor Stanly widow
of Garland Standley and Preston Standley Nathaniel
Stanley & sarah Standley heirs and representatives of the said Garland
Stanley Deceased of the County of Fayett[e] in the State
of Indiana of the one part and sherad adkins of
the County of Campbell and State of Tennessee of the
other part witnesseth that for and in consideration
of the sum of Two hundred of Lawful money to us in
hand paid by the said Sherad Atkins the Receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged have this day Granted
bargained and sold and by the[se] presents doth Grant
bargain & sell unto the said Sherad Adkins his heirs
and assigns the following described tract of land
in the county of Campbell and State of Tennessee
aforesaid
discribed as follows to wit: Whereas Garland Stanley
Decd Seize[d] and possesed of 50 acres of Land in the
County and State aforesaid and leaving his widow
Elenor Standley and his legal heirs at law Preston Stanley
Nathaniel Standley & Sarah Standley and the said lan-
-d discribed as being fifty acres and lying in the
County of Anderson(now Campbell) in the
district of Hambelton State [of]Tennessee and buffalow
Creek a branch of New River including his
improvements Beginning at a white oak on
the side of large Ridge On the West side of sd
of Creek thence with the Ridge north seventeen and
a half west forty six Poles to a white oak,
north forty five west seventy poles to a poplar and
maple, north twelve poles crossing the Creek
to a sugartree and Beech Twice to the
place of Beginning with all hereditaments
and appertinances To have and to hold the sd
tract or parcel of land with all the apper-
tinances thereunto belonging unto the said Sherad
Adkins his heirs and assigns forever agai
-nst all lawfull claims and clamants of all
Persons.
In witness whereof the said Elenor Stanley
Preston Stanly Nathan Standley and Sarah Stanley
have hereunto set their hands and seals on the
day and year first above written.
